Major Hasidic Rebbes Gather in Jerusalem for Memorials and Celebrations This Sabbath
This Sabbath, numerous Hasidic courts across Israel and the diaspora will convene for significant religious events, including memorials and celebratory gatherings. The Belz Hasidic community will mark the Sabbath preceding the yahrzeit of Rabbi Aharon of Belz with a special tish at the Groise Shteub in Kiryat Belz, Jerusalem. Sadigura and Shomrei Emunim communities will also observe the sixth yahrzeit of their late rebbes, with ceremonies led by current rebbes.
Several joyous occasions will take place, including multiple sheva brachot (seven blessings) celebrations for marriages within prominent Hasidic families. These include events in Skver, Zvhill, Rachmastrivka, Amshinov, Nadvorna Jerusalem, Darag, Strikov, Dzhirka, Pinsk-Karlin, Gur, and Lelov Nikolsburg, among others. These weddings unite descendants and relatives of leading rabbis and rebbes, often held in major synagogues and study halls in Jerusalem and Brooklyn.
The Satmar, Bobov, Sanz, Vizhnitz, and other Hasidic courts are also hosting their rebbes in various locations worldwide, including Poland, the United States, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Hungary, for rest and prayer during this period. The Sanz Rebbe of the United States, visiting Israel for the first time since assuming leadership, will remain in Jerusalem to lead prayers at the Nostalgic Oshpitzin-Sanz synagogue in Mea Shearim.
In addition to these events, numerous Torah scholars and community leaders are celebrating births, bar mitzvahs, and weddings of their grandchildren, with ceremonies scheduled in Jerusalem, Bnei Brak, and other centers. Prayers continue for the recovery of leading rabbis and roshei yeshiva, with the public encouraged to welcome the Sabbath early to merit blessings and healing.
Shabbat times for various cities in Israel and abroad are provided, urging communities to prepare early for the Sabbath amid ongoing prayers for the welfare of the Jewish people and those injured in the current conflict.
