Brother of Fallen Israeli Soldier Benyahu Malat Shares His Legacy and Family's Mission

Yehuda Malat, brother of Benyahu Malat who was killed in a terror attack near Givat Gilad, spoke with Channel 7 about his late brother's deep love for Israel, his dedication to military service, and the family's ongoing commitment to preserving his memory. Yehuda described Benyahu as a man who gave his all in every aspect of life, from working, building a home and vineyard, to serving hundreds of reserve duty days and advancing to officer training out of a strong sense of duty. Above all, Benyahu was a devoted father, whose family was central to his life.

Yehuda emphasized the importance of educating younger generations about Israel's heroes and the values of selflessness and love for the land that guided them. He called for these stories to be included in school curricula nationwide. The family has already begun projects to complete Benyahu’s home and vineyard and to establish additional memorial initiatives.
