Wedding Hall in Rehovot Accused of Refusing to Host Gay Couples' Weddings

An event producer claimed that the Vigo wedding hall in Rehovot refused to host a wedding for a gay couple. According to recordings obtained by N12, a sales agent from the hall told the producer, "We do not accept events like these here, unfortunately." The producer had initially tried to book the venue for a wedding of two men. When asked in a WhatsApp group if it was a male couple, the producer confirmed, and the response was, "It's not relevant here for the community. Unfortunately, we don't do that here. Don't send us leads from the community." Later, the producer called the sales agent to understand the issue, and she explained that the venue owners are all Haredi and do not wish to hold such events, adding, "It's a bummer, but I wish it were different. I have many friends from the community and it hurts me, but this is not my decision."

In response to the report, the wedding hall denied the allegations, stating, "We have never refused to host a wedding for a couple from the LGBTQ+ community. We have had events from the community before, not only weddings but also brit milah ceremonies. Just last month, we hosted two events for couples from the community."
