Israel Launches Grant Program Offering Up to 350,000 Shekels for Business Tech Upgrades

The Israeli Ministry of Economy and Industry has introduced a new grant program aimed at businesses in commerce, services, and industry sectors with annual revenues up to 100 million shekels. The program, totaling 9 million shekels, will cover 35% of eligible investment costs, with a maximum grant of 350,000 shekels per business. It encourages adoption of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital systems, ERP and CRM software, inventory management, automation, and production control to boost productivity and competitiveness.

The ministry highlighted research indicating relatively low use of digital tools among Israeli businesses, especially in non-high-tech commerce, traditional industry, hospitality, and food sectors. Compared to the EU average, these sectors lag in implementing advanced business technologies. A survey by the Small and Medium Business Agency revealed strong interest among business owners in adopting AI tools, but many require prior upgrades to their computing and digital infrastructure.

Economy and Industry Minister Nir Barkat emphasized that increasing productivity is key to Israel's economic growth and that innovation adoption across all businesses is essential. He stated the grant program aims to assist small and medium enterprises in overcoming investment barriers and integrating advanced technologies to enhance efficiency and market competitiveness.
