Rabbi Yonatan Schwartz Condemns Extremists Celebrating Rabbi Yaakov Fraber's Death

Rabbi Yonatan Schwartz, a well-known lecturer and the uncle of the late Rabbi Yaakov Fraber, has publicly condemned extremist groups who celebrated the recent death of Rabbi Fraber. Rabbi Fraber, who passed away two days ago, was a respected figure who led the 'Ma'alot Tzur' program facilitating Haredi integration into the IDF. Schwartz described Fraber as a devoted scholar and community leader committed to Torah, work, and acts of kindness.

Schwartz expressed deep pain and outrage over extremists who called Fraber's death a "great joy" and used derogatory language such as "he rotted in hell" because of his support for Haredi enlistment. He refuted claims that Fraber forcibly recruited young men to the army, clarifying that Fraber only helped Haredi men find employment in cooperation with the military, always acting with rabbinical approval.

The rabbi criticized these groups for their protests and insults, especially as Fraber's widow and six young orphans mourn their loss. Schwartz called their behavior "subhuman" and "shameful," emphasizing that they lacked true Torah knowledge and respect. He contrasted their actions with those of other respected rabbis who maintained dignity even in disagreement.
