Israeli Épée Team Reaches World Championship Semifinals for First Time
The Israeli épée fencing team achieved a historic milestone by advancing to the semifinals of the World Fencing Championships for the first time ever. The competition is taking place in Hong Kong. Israel secured a narrow 42-41 victory over Italy, the tournament's third seed, in the round of 16. Following that, they defeated South Korea 43-32 in the quarterfinals.
