Journalist and media personality Avirama Golan sharply criticized Yair Golan, chairman of the Democrats party, and the party's messaging strategy for attempting to appeal to right-wing audiences. In a Facebook post, she accused the party of abandoning its core left-wing values by focusing on its members' military backgrounds and portraying them primarily as fighters. Golan expressed deep disappointment with the party's direction, arguing that this approach sacrifices civil and peace-oriented positions. She wrote, "If you insist on flattering some imaginary right-winger who might fall for you because you are all reservist officers with knives between your teeth, maybe leave me and all other leftists alone." She added that supporters had once believed the party genuinely cared about Israeli society and peace rather than war.
