IDF Soldiers Celebrate Torah Dedication at Outpost Deep Inside Syrian Territory
A moving ceremony took place at an Israeli Defense Forces outpost located approximately 40 kilometers inside Syrian territory on the Hermon summit. Soldiers held a festive event to dedicate a new Torah scroll to the outpost, joining it with an existing scroll already present there. The troops celebrated by singing and dancing with both Torah scrolls, marking a significant spiritual moment amid their deployment.
Lieutenant Colonel Chaim Alon, commander of Battalion 8551, expressed his emotions about the event, highlighting the unity and strength of the Israeli people following the events of October 7. He said, "Soldiers of the House of David, with the dedication of a Torah scroll at a base that is one of the miracles after October 7. The people of Israel are strong and united. IDF soldiers from all religious and political backgrounds participate in defending the country. In Israel's unity, we will prevail."
