Graham Welcomes Emerging Iran Deal, Urges Zero Uranium Enrichment and Congressional Approval
Pro-Israel Senator Lindsey Graham, a close ally of President Donald Trump, welcomed the emerging agreement with Iran but warned that it must be very different from the Obama-era deal. In a post on X, he said that giving the current regime $300 billion for reconstruction would be like a Marshall Plan for rebuilding Germany if the Nazis were still in power.
On the nuclear issue, Graham said Trump’s red line was “0% enrichment,” adding, “I hope that is still the case.” He said any deal with Iran must also win approval from Congress.
Graham did not say the agreement had been finalized, but his comments showed support for negotiations alongside clear opposition to any arrangement that allows uranium enrichment or bypasses lawmakers.
