Threatening Letter Left After Glass Doors Smashed at Channel 12 News in Tel Aviv

In the early hours of Tuesday night, the glass doors at the entrance to Channel 12 News studios in Tel Aviv were smashed. During the incident, a threatening letter was left behind, targeting the newsroom staff and several senior figures from Israel's security, judicial, political, and media sectors. The letter linked the attack to the Shde Yemeni affair and demanded an apology, stating, "Until you apologize for the Shde Yemeni affair, I will not stop." It warned that next time, the stone would not be aimed at the door but at a staff member. The writer added that even an insincere apology would be accepted but urged Channel 12 to take the threat seriously. The letter also included a long list of current and former officials accused harshly.

This is the second such attack on Channel 12 News in less than a month; the previous incident occurred on July 5. No suspects have been apprehended for the first attack. Channel 12 issued a strong response, calling the event a "true alarm" and emphasizing, "Channel 12 journalists' blood is not forfeit." They urged the Israel Police to act immediately to find those responsible and prevent similar incidents.

The newsroom also criticized the government and the Minister of Communications, accusing them of fueling hostility against free media through their statements. Channel 12 affirmed that they will not be deterred by "legislation, incitement, and violence."
