Activists Display Signs of MKs Supporting Freeze on Drafting Ultra-Orthodox Draft Dodgers Ahead of Supreme Court Hearing
Activists from the "Brothers in Arms" movement have put up signs across Israel featuring photos of Knesset members who voted in favor of a law freezing the detention of ultra-Orthodox draft dodgers. The signs include images of prominent ministers and MKs such as Boaz Bismuth, Miki Zohar, Bezalel Smotrich, Israel Katz, Gideon Sa'ar, Shlomo Karai, Tali Gottlieb, Aryeh Deri, Itamar Ben-Gvir, Ze'ev Elkin, and Yoav Kish. The activists stated that the campaign aims to remind the public that while IDF soldiers and reservists are struggling under the burden, these lawmakers chose to support legislation effectively exempting an entire group from military enforcement. The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear a petition against this law today.
