Benny Gantz's Demand Stalls Formation of Third Political Bloc Ahead of Israeli Elections

Negotiations to form a third political bloc and unified list among moderate right-wing figures in Israel have stalled primarily due to Benny Gantz's insistence on leading the list. According to a report by Amit Segal on Channel 12 News, Ayelet Shaked spearheaded efforts to unite prominent politicians including Yuli Edelstein, Dedi Simchi, Benny Gantz, and herself to create a large party aimed at forcing a unity government. However, Gantz refuses to compromise and demands the top spot on the list.

Despite considering options such as joint leadership or co-leadership, the deadlock caused by Gantz's stance has led Gilad Erdan and Yuli Edelstein to decide not to wait any longer. The emerging scenario ahead of the candidate list deadline is a split into two factions: a center-left party led by Hili Tropper and Yoaz Hendel, and a center-right party led by Gilad Erdan and Yuli Edelstein, expected to announce its formation within the coming week.

In parallel, Avigdor Lieberman, chairman of Yisrael Beiteinu, revealed a strategic move to personally manage his party's election campaign without hiring external campaign managers or strategists. Lieberman justified this decision by citing his extensive political experience since 1999 and his intimate knowledge of his party's electorate, opting for a fully independent campaign approach.
