Former Karpaty Lviv Coach Praises Maccabi Haifa's Bruninho but Notes His Self-Doubt

Bruninho, the Brazilian midfielder who recently joined Maccabi Haifa after prolonged interest from the club, continues to be a topic of discussion in Ukraine. Fran Fernandez, his former coach at Karpaty Lviv, expressed mixed feelings about Bruninho's professional development in a recent interview. Fernandez described Bruninho as a unique and versatile player but noted that the midfielder does not fully believe in his own abilities yet. "If he believed in himself, I think he would already be playing in top leagues like Spain's La Liga or Italy's Serie A," Fernandez said.

The coach went on to praise Bruninho as the most talented player he has ever coached, while acknowledging areas where the player still needs improvement. Fernandez is confident that if Bruninho works on these aspects, he will soon be seen competing in one of the leading European leagues. Regarding the impact of Bruninho's departure on Karpaty Lviv, Fernandez admitted that replacing a player of his caliber is very challenging. He emphasized that the club is relying on collective team effort and new signings to compensate for the loss of Bruninho's individual qualities.
