Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv Set for Best-of-Five Championship Derby
Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv will meet again for the Israeli basketball championship after both completed semifinal sweeps on Friday. Maccabi beat Hapoel Holon 3-0, while Hapoel Tel Aviv swept Hapoel Jerusalem in the other semifinal, setting up the third title-series derby between the rivals in the last four seasons.
Unlike their previous two final meetings, this championship will be decided in a best-of-five series. Game 1 is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, with Maccabi Tel Aviv hosting. Game 2 will be on Thursday, June 18, at Hapoel Tel Aviv. Game 3 follows on Sunday, June 21, back at Maccabi Tel Aviv.
