Israeli Tax Authority Official and Assistant Investigated for Fraud and Privacy Violations
The National Fraud Investigations Unit (Yaha) at Lahav 433 has concluded its investigation into a senior official of the Israeli Tax Authority and his personal assistant. The probe, conducted in cooperation with the Civil Service Commission, uncovered evidence suggesting the suspects acted in conflict of interest, violated employee privacy, and engaged in illegal activities including unauthorized access to another person's mobile phone. The suspects face allegations of fraud, breach of trust, privacy violations, receiving items by deception, and other offenses. Following the investigation's completion, the case file was forwarded to the Jerusalem District Attorney's Office for review and decision on prosecution.
