Administrative Detainee Tal Yinon Dradik Transferred to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital

Tal Yinon Dradik, an administrative detainee and resident of the Binyamin settlement of Havat Dror, was transferred to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital for medical treatment on Monday. The transfer was ordered under the direction of the Israel Prison Service Commissioner and Central District Commander Shlomi Shagai. Dradik, a father of four, has been on a hunger strike for nearly a month in protest against an administrative detention order he claims was issued unlawfully. During his hunger strike, Dradik has experienced repeated fainting spells and a significant deterioration in his health.

The decision to transfer Dradik to the hospital received public backing from Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. Dradik's hunger strike has drawn widespread public support, including a recent demonstration where hundreds gathered to recite the Book of Lamentations outside the Russian Compound detention center in Jerusalem, where he is held. His protest highlights ongoing tensions surrounding administrative detention policies in Israel.
