SpaceX Set for Nasdaq Debut After $75 Billion Offering, With Shares Seen Jumping More Than 30%
SpaceX is set to begin trading tonight on Nasdaq under the ticker SPCX, after completing its blockbuster offering last night. The company raised $75 billion at a price of $135 a share, implying a valuation of $1.77 trillion.
Market indicators suggest a much stronger opening. Derivatives data from online brokerage IG International in Singapore on Friday pointed to a market value of about $2.4 trillion for SpaceX, more than 35% above the offering price.
At the same time, perpetual futures tied to SpaceX on the crypto platform Hyperliquid were trading around $180 a share, which would value the company at more than $2.3 trillion. Trading volume in those contracts reached more than $143 million over the past 24 hours.
The article says investors are expecting sharp gains when trading starts this evening, following the end of the offering yesterday.
