Residents of Beit Orot Hold Prayer and Protest on Mount of Olives After Security Incident

Residents of the Beit Orot neighborhood on the Mount of Olives gathered for an afternoon prayer on Shmuel Ben Adiya Street following a security escalation and the murder of Binyahu Malat earlier that day. The prayer was led by Rabbi Dov Lior and was held in response to the morning's bottle-throwing attack against the neighborhood. After the prayer, residents blocked the road to prevent the passage of Arab vehicles for over an hour as a form of protest.

Rabbi Lior addressed the crowd, urging firm resistance against the deteriorating security situation. The residents emphasized the need for a decisive response, stating they would not ignore any hostile acts or wait for more severe incidents like the one that occurred that morning. They declared their determination to combat terrorism resolutely.

In a subsequent statement, the neighborhood residents expressed support for the police forces and called for stronger enforcement measures. They praised the police as heroes and demanded that they be allowed to act with greater force against terrorism. These statements were issued collectively by the Beit Orot community.
