Israeli Left-Wing Groups Plan Tel Aviv Protest Demanding Inquiry Into October 7 Massacre

Left-wing organizations in Israel, led by the Movement for Quality Government, are organizing a protest at Tel Aviv's Bimah Square on the evening of Saturday, July 25. The demonstration, titled "No Mandate for Evasion, Fighting for the Home," calls for the establishment of a state commission of inquiry into the October 7 massacre and demands equality in the burden of military service. The protest also opposes the law freezing arrests of draft evaders.

The event will take place just three days before a critical Supreme Court hearing on July 28, where a nine-justice panel will review petitions against the law freezing arrests of draft evaders. The Movement for Quality Government is among the main petitioners in this case. Other groups joining the protest include the October Council, the Shield for Israel Forum, Paratroopers for Democracy, 555 Patriots, and other protest organizations.

Organizers emphasized that despite the dissolution of the Knesset, the government continues to avoid responsibility and increase the burden on serving citizens. They urged the public to participate in the protest to defend Israel's character as a Jewish and democratic state.
