Jerusalem Resident Indicted for Threatening CNN Crew and Damaging Vehicles in West Bank

An indictment was filed on Thursday against a Jerusalem resident in his 20s for assault, threats, illegal possession of a knife, and damaging vehicles belonging to foreign media crews in the West Bank. The incident occurred on July 11, 2026, in the Benjamin area of Samaria, prompting police and IDF forces to respond after receiving reports. During searches, four suspects were detained; one was held longer at police request, while the other three were released under restrictive conditions.

According to the indictment, the accused threatened journalists while holding a stick and a stone, making throwing motions and shouting "Stop." He then received a knife from another individual and attempted to slash the tire of one vehicle. Subsequently, he jumped onto the hood of a second vehicle and struck its windshield with the stick, causing damage. Investigators found that the suspect also blocked the passage of two vehicles from an Italian news company and CNN, preventing their movement.

Following the investigation by the inter-organizational command in the Judea and Samaria district, the suspect was charged with intentional vehicle damage, illegal possession of a knuckle duster or knife, and threats. The probe into the other involved individuals continues.
