US Central Command Conducts 12th Consecutive Night of Strikes on Iranian Military Targets

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced early Thursday that it completed another extensive round of air and naval strikes against Iranian military capabilities overnight. This marks the twelfth consecutive night of American offensive operations aimed at degrading Tehran's military assets. The strikes occurred around 10:30 p.m. Eastern Time and targeted a broad array of strategic sites including advanced naval systems, missile storage facilities, unmanned aerial vehicles, coastal surveillance installations, and air defense assets.

CENTCOM emphasized that the campaign's goal is to further erode Iran's ability to launch attacks against civilian and commercial vessels in international waterways, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman, where Iranian Revolutionary Guards have recently attempted to disrupt freedom of navigation. The operations involved advanced US fighter jets, naval vessels, and drones, with a focus on precision to avoid civilian casualties.

Over the past month, the US military has conducted dozens of strikes on Iranian ground targets and maintained a maritime blockade, rerouting nine commercial ships and disabling one vessel to enforce restrictions on Iranian port access. A notable recent strike destroyed the observation and maritime control tower at Iran's Chabahar port, a key intelligence asset in the Gulf of Oman.

CENTCOM also reported that over 50,000 US service members are currently deployed across the Middle East, maintaining a high state of readiness. The heightened tensions have prompted the Israeli government to extend its nationwide "special situation" emergency status amid concerns of potential Iranian missile attacks on civilian populations.

The ongoing US campaign reflects escalating regional tensions as Iran threatens retaliation, while American forces continue to apply pressure to limit Tehran's military reach and safeguard international shipping lanes.
