Gilad Erdan and Yuli Edelstein Plan New Right-Liberal Party Without Ayelet Shaked

Gilad Erdan, former minister and ambassador, is preparing to announce the formation of a new right-liberal political party expected to launch within the coming week. The party aims to promote the establishment of a broad Zionist government and explicitly commits not to join a narrow coalition with any faction. Ayelet Shaked is not expected to participate in this initiative.

Yuli Edelstein, who recently left Likud, will serve as Erdan's number two and lead efforts on equalizing the national service burden, particularly focusing on drafting ultra-Orthodox yeshiva students. Although there were talks about a potential alliance with Benny Gantz, such a union is not currently being considered.

Erdan is also in advanced discussions with other public figures, including former Beit Shemesh mayor Aliza Bloch and Raanan Shavot, a founder of the Female Reservists Forum. Erdan’s team emphasizes that the party’s official launch depends on securing the necessary resources to ensure electoral success.
