AEK Athens Withdraws Offer for Kings Kangwa Due to Hapoel Be'er Sheva's Playing Demands

AEK Athens has decided to withdraw its transfer offer for Kings Kangwa, the Zambian midfielder currently playing for Hapoel Be'er Sheva, following the Israeli club's insistence that Kangwa participate in their upcoming UEFA Champions League qualifying match against Vikingur. According to reports from Greece, AEK viewed Kangwa's involvement in this match as a barrier to using him in the playoff stages of their competition, leading them to set an ultimatum regarding his availability.

Despite pressure from Kangwa and his representatives to find a compromise, Hapoel Be'er Sheva maintained their position that Kangwa must be available for the match. Financial terms were reportedly not an obstacle, as AEK's offer met Be'er Sheva's demands. The disagreement centered solely on the timing of the transfer and Kangwa's eligibility to play in the imminent European fixtures.

AEK has informed Hapoel Be'er Sheva that it is withdrawing its proposal and will explore other options.
