Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi Condemns Democrats Party as Hypocritical and Fascist

Israeli Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi sharply criticized the Democrats party on Tuesday following their decision to bar a Channel 14 reporter from covering their primary elections. Karhi labeled the party as a "fascist party" and described the situation as a "celebration of hypocrisy." He linked the party to protesters against the government and supporters of refusal to serve in the military, blaming them for leading to a tragic event in Israel and expressing dismay that the party still has voters.

Karhi also directly attacked the party's elected chairman, Yair Golan, referencing his past controversial statements. He condemned Golan for previously claiming that IDF soldiers kill babies as a hobby, calling the party "despicable" and highlighting that nearly 100,000 people voted for it despite such remarks.

Further, Karhi criticized the left-wing's concept of democracy, describing it as "dark medieval times," and argued that leftists believe the king's word is law, dismissing the rule of law and democratic decision-making. His comments came during an interview with Boaz Golan, reflecting deep political tensions surrounding the Democrats party and its role in Israeli politics.
