Maccabi Tel Aviv Prepares for Sheriff Tiraspol with Blitz Expected Fit

Maccabi Tel Aviv is gearing up for their crucial Europa League qualifying match against Sheriff Tiraspol, the Moldovan Cup holders. Christian Blitz, who had been sidelined with a minor injury, is expected to be fit and return to the squad after participating in a partial training session on Monday. Alongside Blitz, all players previously suspended from domestic matches will rejoin the team, including Helio Vieira, who recently returned from the World Cup and has completed full training sessions.

The coaching staff is considering changes to the lineup following their impressive victory over Hapoel Be'er Sheva and winning the Champion of Champions title. Despite a desire to replace Raz Shlomo with Tyrese Asante in defense, Asante has been ill recently and is unlikely to start. In attack, Saeid Abu Freha is expected to maintain his place in the starting eleven.

Unlike the match against Be'er Sheva, where only two foreign players started, Maccabi Tel Aviv plans to field six foreign players against Sheriff Tiraspol.
