Israeli Transport Minister Assures No Flight Cancellations Amid Security Tensions

Israeli Transport Minister Miri Regev reassured travelers that despite rising security tensions and concerns over potential disruptions, Israel's airspace will remain open with no planned flight cancellations during the peak travel months of July, August, and September. Speaking on 103FM radio, Regev emphasized that the government intends to maintain normal flight operations throughout the summer and the upcoming Jewish High Holidays, despite the sensitive security situation in the region.

Her statement comes amid reports of missile launches from Tehran and air raid sirens sounding in Jordan, reflecting heightened fears of direct escalation between Iran and Israel, including possible missile attacks. The Israeli defense establishment and the Ministry of Transportation are closely monitoring developments and conducting ongoing assessments, but currently plan to continue regular air traffic as much as possible.

All decisions regarding air travel are coordinated with security agencies and the Home Front Command to ensure safety. The Ministry stressed that risk management is handled cautiously to allow Israelis to travel abroad and return safely even under security threats.
