Hapoel Be'er Sheva received disappointing news regarding their Brazilian winger Joao Victor, who was diagnosed with a partial tear in his hamstring muscle. The injury occurred during his official debut in the Israeli Super Cup match against Maccabi Tel Aviv. An MRI confirmed the severity of the injury, which is expected to sideline him for at least a month, causing him to miss upcoming UEFA Champions League qualifying matches and likely the start of the Israeli Premier League season.

Victor, 22, was signed this summer from Hungarian club Zalaegerszeg for 1.7 million euros, making it the second most expensive transfer in the club's history. He signed a four-year contract after a successful debut season in Europe, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in 33 league appearances. Previously, he played for Ceara in Brazil and FC Osaka in Japan, and he notably helped Zalaegerszeg reach the Hungarian Cup final with two goals and three assists.
