Air Raid Sirens Sound in Amman Following Reports of Missile Launches from Tehran

On Monday evening, air raid sirens were activated in Amman, the capital of Jordan, and nearby cities following reports circulated among Iranian opposition groups about missile launches from the Tehran area. However, there has been no official confirmation of these reports. This incident comes a day after the U.S. Embassy in Jordan announced the evacuation of the Queen Alia International Airport and the port of Aqaba due to what it described as a "specific and credible threat." The embassy urged American citizens to avoid these locations.

Earlier on the same day, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that several interceptors were launched in response to missile fire toward Jordan to prevent debris from falling in Israeli territory. Some interceptor fragments were found in an open area near the southern Israeli city of Eilat. The IDF confirmed there were no injuries or damage, and no sirens were sounded in Eilat, in line with Home Front Command policy. No changes to public instructions were issued.

Following the evacuation in Aqaba and the interception event near Eilat, sirens were also activated in the Amman area. At this time, it remains unclear what triggered the alerts, whether any interceptions occurred over Jordanian territory, or if missile debris was detected there.
