Singer Elhanan Mishmarati Comforts Family After Toddler Drowns in Private Pool

A tragic accident struck the Aloni family in Kadima-Zoran last week when their one-year-old daughter, Talia, drowned in their private backyard pool. Rescue teams found the toddler unconscious and performed prolonged resuscitation efforts before rushing her to the hospital in critical condition. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the hospital. Talia's funeral took place on Friday, and the family is currently sitting shiva at their home.

In the days following the tragedy, many have come to offer condolences. Among them was singer and liturgical poet Elhanan Mishmarati, who comforted the grieving father, Dror Aloni, by singing songs of faith and emotion to strengthen the family. Mishmarati also shared a poignant message with bereaved parents, urging them to appreciate the noise and presence of their children, as grieving parents would give anything to hear those sounds again.

This incident adds to a series of recent drowning cases involving young children in Israel, including a two-year-old who drowned in a hotel pool in Sharm El-Sheikh and a one-and-a-half-year-old who drowned in a private pool in Beit She'an. Safety officials emphasize the critical importance of constant supervision around water, installing safety fences around private pools, and educating families about water safety rules.
