Kafr Qasim Construction Company Owner Sentenced to 12 Months for Tax Offenses

The Petah Tikva Magistrate's Court sentenced Said Dagar, a construction company owner from Kafr Qasim, to 12 months in prison and a financial penalty for tax offenses committed between 2016 and 2018. Dagar was convicted of using 49 fictitious invoices totaling over four million shekels in his company's accounting records to unlawfully deduct input tax amounting to 612,000 shekels. Additionally, in 2020, he issued a tax invoice worth approximately 450,000 shekels to another company, despite no longer being authorized to do so after resigning as a director in 2018.

Dagar appealed the sentence to the Central Lod District Court, which rejected his appeal, affirming that the sentence aligns with the standard penalties for similar cases. The court stated there was no reason to intervene in the original sentencing decision.
