15-Year-Old Accused of Murdering Yamno Zalaka Remains in Custody Until Trial Ends

The court ruled on Monday that the 15-year-old minor accused of murdering 20-year-old Yamno Zalaka will remain in custody until the conclusion of his trial, rejecting a request for house arrest. The indictment was filed in May by the Central District Prosecutor's Office at the Lod District Court, charging the minor with murder in connection to the killing that occurred on Independence Day night in Petah Tikva. Additionally, indictments were brought against 15 other minors, mostly aged 14 to 16, accused of aggravated assault carrying a sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
