Apple Introduces Real-Time Automatic SMS Translation Feature on iPhone

Apple has integrated a powerful automatic translation feature into the iPhone's Messages app, enabling users to translate SMS conversations instantly in real time. This new capability supports 20 languages and works directly within the chat window, displaying translations immediately below the original text for both sent and received messages. The feature is available on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and all iPhone models released after 2024.

The translation process is fully local to the device, ensuring user privacy as no data is sent to the cloud. Additionally, the feature functions seamlessly even when messaging Android users, who do not need any special settings or devices to receive translated messages. To activate the feature, users simply open the Messages app, select a conversation, tap the contact's name at the top, and enable "Automatic Translation," choosing their preferred language from the available options.

Apple also offers other translation tools on iPhone, including a standalone translation app for voice and sign translation, FaceTime and phone call translation, and direct translation through AirPods Pro. With this new feature, Apple aims to simplify communication across languages and enhance user experience in both personal and professional contexts.
