12-Year-Old Israeli Boy Digs Backyard Pool Using Only a Spoon, Gains TikTok Fame

Adam Cooper, a 12-year-old boy from Maagan Michael, has captured online attention this summer by digging a swimming pool in his backyard using only a kitchen spoon. The project, which went viral on TikTok, follows a unique rule Adam set: he digs one scoop for every new follower he gains. Starting with just one follower, his audience quickly grew to tens of thousands, and the hole in his yard deepened accordingly.

Adam explained in an interview on the show "HaOlam HaBoker" that his inspiration came from a video he saw online of someone digging a bunker abroad. He decided to replicate the idea but with a pool instead. This project also fulfills a long-held dream, as Adam has wanted to become a social media star since he was 10 years old.

The endeavor requires significant physical effort and determination; on one occasion, Adam dug continuously for five and a half hours. Beyond the physical challenge, the project showcases his creativity and independence. His father, Yaniv Cooper, proudly noted that Adam manages the entire challenge on his own, refusing any help as he views it as his personal test. Yaniv also praised Adam’s skills in video production, highlighting that it is impressive for a child his age to edit, direct, and narrate his own videos.
