Yair Golan Rules Out Coalition With Current Israeli Government Parties

Yair Golan, chairman of the Democratic Party, stated in a Monday interview on Kan News that his party will not join any coalition including parties from the current Israeli government. He emphasized that the future coalition must exclude ultra-nationalists, corrupt politicians, and specifically the ultra-Orthodox parties. Golan called for forming a "government of correction" with a clear ideological backbone focused on security, political arrangements, and restoring democracy by repealing recent controversial laws he described as "coup laws."

Golan expressed willingness to cooperate with political figures like Avigdor Lieberman and others from the opposition camp, as long as they commit to replacing the current coalition and preventing extremists and corrupt officials from leading Israel. He also confirmed that the Democratic Party signed a boycott agreement against the "Kohelet Forum," criticizing its agenda as dangerous to Israeli democracy.

The Democratic Party is currently holding primaries to finalize its candidate list for the upcoming Knesset elections scheduled in 99 days. Golan described the primaries as an "extraordinary democratic celebration" and an essential step toward political reform in Israel.
