Rabbi Avraham Zarviv Visits Gush Katif Museum, Expresses Hope to Rebuild Settlements in Gaza

Rabbi Avraham Zarviv, a respected Israeli rabbinical judge and national figure, visited the Gush Katif Museum in Jerusalem on Sunday to mark 21 years since the evacuation of Gush Katif and northern Samaria. During the visit, he was honored with the "Distinguished Gush Katif" award in recognition of his contributions and activism related to the area.

In an emotional speech at the end of his tour, Rabbi Zarviv spoke about the deep longing for Gush Katif and the hope to return and resettle there. He emphasized the enduring memory of Jerusalem and Gush Katif, stating, "We return to Jerusalem and we return to Gush Katif."

Reflecting on his past work in the Gaza Strip, Rabbi Zarviv recalled how the forces active there prepared the land for establishing communities. He said, "We plowed the land of Gaza, prepared it, and laid the foundations for beautiful and magnificent settlements, yeshivas, religious schools, much Torah study, agriculture, and strengthening the land."

Rabbi Zarviv expressed his belief that Gush Katif represents the "closest stage of settlement" and voiced hope that Jewish communities will be rebuilt there in the future.
