Man Arrested for Violent Attack and Theft in Tel Aviv Supermarket

A serious violent incident occurred at a supermarket on Allenby Street in Tel Aviv when a man from Rehovot attacked a store clerk with a broken glass bottle and stole alcohol. The suspect, in his twenties, entered the store late at night with the intent to steal bottles of alcohol. When the clerk tried to stop him, the suspect aggressively smashed a bottle on the clerk's head, causing significant injuries, then fled with several stolen bottles.

Security footage from the supermarket shows the suspect dressed in dark clothes and black-and-white sneakers suspiciously moving among the shelves before the attack near the fruits and vegetables section. After the assault, he ran out of the store holding the stolen bottles.

Police from the Lev Tel Aviv station responded quickly to the emergency call, arriving within minutes and conducting a swift search. Thanks to their vigilance and the suspect's description, they apprehended him near the scene before he could escape. The Tel Aviv District Police Prosecution Unit filed a serious indictment against the suspect, requesting his detention until the end of legal proceedings due to the severity of the assault and robbery.

Authorities emphasized the gravity of such violent acts against public service workers and business employees and stressed that the detention request aims to protect the public from the suspect's high danger level.
