Itamar Ben-Gvir Warns Unity Government Could Undermine Judicial Reform and Coalition Stability

Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel's National Security Minister, expressed strong opposition to the formation of a unity government involving opposition parties, warning it could derail judicial reforms and destabilize the current right-wing coalition. In a radio interview with 103fm, Ben-Gvir said he hopes for a "full right-wing government" and criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's talks about a unity government, stating it would not advance the government's goals, including firing the Attorney General.

Ben-Gvir specifically warned that cooperation with figures like Benny Gantz, Gadi Eizenkot, or Naftali Bennett could "break up the bloc" and alienate current partners. He reiterated his intention to remove the Attorney General as a top priority in the next government, accusing the legal enforcement system of obstructing government work and police activity.

Addressing recent violence against businessman Barak Abramov's properties, Ben-Gvir confirmed ongoing communication with citizens affected by such incidents and criticized the police response. He praised Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai's achievements in reducing murders in the Jewish sector, shootings in the Negev, and vehicle thefts, while calling for further improvements.

Ben-Gvir also criticized the Attorney General's policies on technological investigative tools, advocating for their expanded use against serious crime but opposing their use against public officials. He firmly stated he would not allow the Attorney General to persecute ministers or fabricate cases against them.
