Foreign Worker Dies After Heavy Object Falls at Construction Site Near Kiryat Malakhi

A 30-year-old foreign worker was killed on Sunday morning at a construction site near Kiryat Malakhi, in the Be'er Tuvia area. The worker was struck by a heavy object that fell on him during his work. Emergency teams arrived promptly and performed advanced resuscitation efforts, but he was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe multi-system trauma.

Magen David Adom paramedics Meir Avivi and Gershon Alperin described the victim as unconscious, without pulse or breathing upon their arrival. Rescue teams from ZAKA also responded to the scene. This fatal accident adds to a recent series of deadly workplace incidents in construction sites across Israel.

In recent months, several similar accidents have occurred, including a severe fall from five meters in Herzliya and fatal falls from multiple floors in Ramat Hasharon and Bnei Brak. According to recent Knesset committee data, approximately 242,000 foreign workers are employed in Israel, many in the construction sector, which is considered one of the most hazardous industries. The data underscores the critical need for strict safety regulations at construction sites.

The Israel Police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
