Israel Faces Hottest Day of the Week with No Significant Relief Soon
Israel is experiencing the hottest day of the week on Sunday, with temperatures rising slightly above seasonal averages. The heat is expected to be intense, especially in the mountains and inland areas, while the coastal plain will remain cooler. Temperatures are forecasted to increase by one to two degrees today and tomorrow compared to the weekend, which already saw a 3-4 degree rise from previous days. The highest temperature recorded yesterday was 43.3 degrees Celsius in Sodom. Today, temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius or higher are expected in locations including Ein Gedi, Beit She'an, and Eilat, marking it as the hottest day of the week.
On Monday and Tuesday, a slight temperature drop is anticipated, but conditions will remain warmer than usual with hot and dry weather in the mountains and inland regions, and milder temperatures along the coast. Wednesday will see a minor temperature increase again. The Meteorological Service noted that long-term forecasts indicate the second half of July will continue to be warmer than average, with some days experiencing significantly higher temperatures.
