Iran Secretly Sent Final Draft to the U.S. via Qatar
Iran has sent the final draft of an agreement to the United States through Qatar, according to American and regional sources familiar with the mediation efforts, the New York Post reported. According to the report, the text of the agreement was finalized after lengthy contacts and was delivered to Washington through Qatar, which continues to mediate between the sides.
"The text of the agreement was completed and finalized on Wednesday evening," said a regional source close to Iran's leadership. "Doha remained in constant contact with Tehran and Washington to advance the understandings. If final approval is given, the implementation process of the agreement will begin." An American source involved in the mediation efforts also confirmed that the draft agreement was submitted, but at this stage its full details are still unknown.
However, in Tehran they are for now refusing to confirm that any progress has been made. The Tasnim news agency even mocked President Donald Trump's repeated declarations that an agreement was nearing. "He announced 38 times in the last two months that the agreement is close. In his imagination, he sent Vance to Pakistan 4 times in 3 days. Until a possible understanding is announced by Iran, all the news from Trump on this issue should be considered like his previous statements."
