Israeli Civilians Spotted After Spending a Day in Syrian Territory Near Golan Heights

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported on Friday that Israeli civilians crossed into Syrian territory near Majdal Shams yesterday and were only located after approximately 24 hours. IDF forces conducted searches to safely return the individuals to Israel, eventually finding and detaining them for police processing.

The IDF also noted multiple attempts today by Israelis to cross into Syria from the southern Golan Heights, all of which were prevented by military personnel. The army condemned these border crossings as criminal acts that endanger both civilians and soldiers, emphasizing the operational disruption caused by such incidents. The IDF called on law enforcement agencies to take firm action against those involved.

This event follows several recent cases where groups of Israelis crossed into Syrian and Lebanese territories. Earlier this week, members of the "Pioneers of Bashan" group reported spending 24 hours beyond Israeli borders near Mount Hermon, claiming they were preparing for settlement activities. These incidents highlight a rising trend of unauthorized border crossings in the region.
