Yinon Magal Accuses Left-Wing Media of Lying About Gender Separation Law in Israeli Academia
During a broadcast on Channel 14's program The Patriots, host Yinon Magal sharply criticized left-wing media outlets for allegedly spreading false information about the recently passed gender separation law in Israeli academic institutions. Magal claimed these outlets distorted the law's wording and misrepresented its implications as part of a campaign against the coalition's legislative blitz.
Magal focused on the law promoted by Knesset member Limor Son Har-Melech, which permits gender separation only in classrooms within non-segregated institutions. He contrasted this with media reports falsely stating that the law allows separation in public spaces such as cafeterias, laboratories, and libraries. According to Magal, this discrepancy proves that the media "simply are not ashamed to lie. They lie."
He further accused the media of similar dishonesty regarding other laws, including the ultra-Orthodox draft law and claims about weakening the press. Magal concluded by saying, "Why do you keep lying? Why? On the other hand, it’s not terrible. The masks have come off, and we see the truth. They are a bit pressured."
