Israeli Police Prepare for Traffic Disruptions Ahead of Jerusalem Faction Protest in Bnei Brak
The Israel Police announced special preparations for an upcoming protest in Bnei Brak organized by the Jerusalem faction affiliated with Rabbi Tzvi Friedman. The demonstration is planned to protest the recent arrests of draft evaders. Starting around 4:00 PM on Thursday, significant traffic disruptions are expected in the area. Authorities warned that Highway 4 could be blocked in both directions between Aluf Sadeh Interchange and Em HaMoshavot Interchange. Traffic congestion and possible blockages are also anticipated on Jabotinsky Road in Bnei Brak.
Dan District police officers will be deployed to direct traffic and maintain public order during the protest. The police advised the public to use alternative routes, stay updated on traffic arrangements in real time, and avoid the protest zones if possible. The police emphasized their recognition of the right to protest as a democratic cornerstone, permitting demonstrations within legal boundaries. However, they made clear that any disorder, obstruction of free movement, or behavior endangering public safety will not be tolerated.
