Jerusalem Faction Protest Near Bnei Brak Blocks Highway 4, Causes Traffic Jams
On Thursday afternoon, members of the Jerusalem faction affiliated with Rabbi Tzvi Friedman (known as the Haratzpeniks) began a protest near Bnei Brak. The demonstration was held in response to the recent arrests of draft evaders during the past week. The protest took place on Highway 4, leading Israeli police to implement operational measures immediately.
According to the police, Highway 4 was closed in both directions from the Aluf Sadeh interchange to the Em HaMoshavot interchange. Additional traffic congestion and potential closures were expected on Jabotinsky Road in Bnei Brak. Officers from the Dan District were deployed at the scene to direct traffic and maintain public order.
The police urged the public to avoid the area, use alternative routes, and stay updated on traffic arrangements. They emphasized that while the right to protest is fundamental in a democratic state and lawful demonstrations are permitted, they will not tolerate disturbances, obstruction of free movement, or any behavior endangering public safety.
