Jerusalem Faction Protest in Bnei Brak Prompts Major Road Closures and Traffic Changes

A large protest organized by the Jerusalem Faction is scheduled for Monday at 5:00 PM near the Geha Interchange on Highway 4 in Bnei Brak. The demonstration follows the arrest of yeshiva student Israel Gohfi, who was detained and transferred to military police custody on suspicion of desertion after an incident involving his public transport card in Haifa. The Jerusalem Faction, led by Rabbi Tzvi Friedman, called for the protest in response to his arrest.

The Israel Police are deploying reinforced forces from the Dan District to manage traffic and maintain public order during the protest. Significant traffic disruptions are expected, including possible closures and changes to traffic flow on Highway 4 between the Aluf Sadeh and Em HaMoshavot interchanges in both directions. Additional congestion and potential blockages are anticipated on Jabotinsky Road in Bnei Brak. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes while staying updated on real-time traffic changes.

Police emphasized that the protest will be allowed as long as it remains lawful but warned that any disturbances, obstruction of free movement, or behavior endangering public safety will not be tolerated. This protest comes shortly after another yeshiva student, Mordechai Mishkovsky of Netivot Yitzhak Yeshiva in Tel Aviv and grandson of Rabbi Nathan Zuchovsky, was also detained by military police near Beit Shean on Friday night.

The authorities are preparing for heavy traffic and possible road closures in the afternoon and evening hours to accommodate the demonstration and ensure public safety.
