Avi Haliva Appointed Head of Israel's National Metro Authority

Following a proposal by Transportation Minister Miri Regev, the Israeli government has approved Avi Haliva as the new director of the National Metro Authority. Haliva brings over 20 years of public service management experience, including roles as government offices commissioner at the Civil Service Commission and senior deputy director in various government ministries. His appointment ends a prolonged leadership vacuum after Uzi Yitzhaki's departure, during which the authority effectively disintegrated and was left with only three employees and no operational resources.
