UK Reports Two Crew Missing After Tanker Fire Off Oman
The United Kingdom's Maritime Trade Operations office reported today, Wednesday, that two crew members are missing and one person was injured after a fire broke out in the engine room of a tanker off the coast of Oman, according to the UK Maritime Trade Operations center (UKMTO). The cause of the blaze is currently unknown.
According to the report, the incident occurred 20 nautical miles northeast of the Omani city of Sohar. Two crew members are missing and one person was injured as a result of the fire on the tanker. Archive / Reuters
Earlier today, Britain reported a cargo ship that said a small vessel carrying six armed men had approached it about 88 nautical miles southwest of Balhaf in Yemen. There was an exchange of fire between the small vessels and the ship's armed security team, after which the ship changed course.
