Ben Sharaf and Danny Wolf Lead Brooklyn to Dominant Win Over Emmanuel Sharp's Sacramento in Las Vegas Summer League
In the Israeli derby during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, Ben Sharaf and Danny Wolf's Brooklyn team decisively defeated Emmanuel Sharp's Sacramento Kings 115-83. Despite the loss, all three Israeli players posted strong individual performances. Wolf contributed 14 points, two rebounds, one assist, and one steal, while Sharaf added 11 points, five assists, and four steals for Brooklyn. Sharp impressed with 23 points, including six three-pointers on 11 attempts, along with four steals and three rebounds in 23 minutes for Sacramento.
Brooklyn dominated from the start, leading 38-18 after the first quarter and extending their advantage to 56-34 by halftime. Sacramento attempted a comeback in the third quarter, but Brooklyn maintained control for a one-sided victory. The standout player for Brooklyn was 2025 eighth overall draft pick Agur Damin, who scored 22 points (20 in the first half), dished out eight assists, and grabbed four rebounds and steals each. Drake Powell and Michael Brown Jr. also contributed 18 and 16 points respectively.
After the game, Sharp, recently selected 45th in the NBA draft, expressed frustration with his team's performance. "We need to improve," he said. "In the last two games, we started too softly and found ourselves trailing early, chasing the opponent the entire game. We're just shooting ourselves in the foot." He added, "You can't dwell on losses too long, but I hate losing, so it's just frustrating." Sacramento assistant coach Chris Darnell acknowledged the team's shortcomings, stating, "We can't just throw this game away. We have to learn from it and feel this experience. I told the players we're not the same team we were a few days ago. Ultimately, it's my responsibility. We simply weren't ready."
