Danny Wolf Scores 20 as Nets Fall 83-76 to Hawks in Las Vegas Summer League

In a Las Vegas Summer League game on the night between Saturday and Sunday, Brooklyn Nets players Danny Wolf and Ben Sharff posted strong individual performances despite their team's 83-76 loss to the Atlanta Hawks. Wolf led the Nets with 20 points, shooting 9 of 16 from the field, along with five rebounds, one assist, and a steal. Sharff contributed 15 points, five assists, and a block, though both Israelis struggled in the fourth quarter as the Hawks outscored the Nets 26-16 to secure the win.

The Nets rested their young stars Yegor Dyumin and Michael Brown Jr., who had led a decisive victory over the New York Knicks the previous night. Brooklyn held a 10-point lead in the second half before Atlanta rallied. Rookie Kingston Flemings, the Hawks’ eighth overall draft pick, added nine points, seven rebounds, and five assists, while Kobe Johnson led the Hawks with 17 points.

Alongside Wolf, Chainey Johnson was the Nets’ top scorer with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and five steals. Johnson and Sharff each played 32 minutes, the most on the team, while Wolf played 26 minutes. Another Nets rookie, forward Joshua Jefferson, who was the 28th pick in this year’s first round, had a disappointing debut, scoring nine points on 1 of 8 shooting. Drake Powell continued his struggles, shooting just 1 of 28 from the field in the Summer League, scoring four points from free throws in 24 and a half minutes.

The Nets will return to action between Tuesday and Wednesday at 1:00 AM Israel time to face the Sacramento Kings and Emmanuel Sharp, a team they previously lost to on a game-winning three-pointer by Nick Clifford.
