Israeli National Security Minister and Shomron Council Head Lay Cornerstone for New Northern Shomron Neighborhood

On Tuesday, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Shomron Regional Council Head Yossi Dagan participated in a cornerstone laying ceremony for a new neighborhood in Hinanit, located in northern Shomron. The event was attended by hundreds of residents, local leadership including Hinanit's management committee head Or Yakubovitch, and representatives from the construction company Midar.

Ben-Gvir emphasized that sovereignty is established through daily realities such as building homes and expanding neighborhoods, calling Hinanit an example of pioneering Zionism. He highlighted efforts to strengthen settlement security, including a major weapons reform and the establishment of over a thousand fortified classrooms nationwide. Ben-Gvir praised Dagan for his dedication to the Shomron community and pledged continued support for development and security in the area.

Dagan described the expansion as a vital step in reinforcing Israeli presence in northern Shomron, calling it "true Zionism" and a key to restoring security to Israel. He thanked Ben-Gvir and other partners for their commitment to enhancing security measures, including fortifying classrooms and expanding personal weapon eligibility. Dagan also acknowledged the ongoing work of local leaders and the community.

Ze'ev Greenberg, Midar's vice president and owner, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in his company and described the project as a modern and comfortable residential gem in the heart of Shomron. Or Yakubovitch noted that Hinanit, currently home to 200 families, is doubling in size with new families choosing to settle there, signaling a strong future for the community and the region.

This development is part of a broader initiative to strengthen Israeli settlements in northern Shomron, reflecting ongoing efforts to expand and secure the area amid regional challenges.
